New Farmland Leasing Publications!
Posted on July 26, 2012
If you care about making land available for farming, check out these new publications by Land for Good. Two full-service guides and two shorter pamphlets target private, municipal and institutional landowners. They focus on helping "non-farming" owners and managers of agricultural properties bring their land into productive agricultural uses.
These guides cover subjects such as landowner's and institutional goals, tax and legal considerations, insurance, easements, land stewardship, farmer-landowner relations, and elements of a good lease agreement. They include sample leases and a list of resources and service providers that can help with these land tenure issues. The flyer introduces private landowners to the concept of leasing land for farming. It can be distributed by organizations at workshops and to members, for example.
