Northeast Organic Farming Association - VT: Community Supported Agriculture $20,000 • 1999-2000 Two grants totaling $20,000 were used by NOFA-VT to develop a statewide community supported agriculture network. |
Northeast Organic Farming Association - VT: Organic Seed Production TA Program $19,120 • 2002, 2004 Two grants were used by NOFA-VT and High Mowing Seeds to run an organic seed producers training program. |
University of Vermont Center for Sustainable Agriculture $115,289 • 1999, 2001, 2006 Three separate grants were used to study the feasibility of growing organic barley and producing organic malted barley and malt syrup in Vermont, to improve the bookkeeping and record keeping systems of small dairy producers, and to conduct the On-farm Seed Oil Production and Feasibility Study. |

$37,000 • 1998, 2003 Grants were used to help organize the Vermont Cheese Council and to assist its first 12 members market their products, share technical assistance with each other, develop quality standards for Vermont cheeses using the Council’s label, develop a fundraising plan, complete the VCC website, produce a logo, and hold a conference. |

$1,400 • 2002 Grant was used to provide scholarships to new and experienced farmers to offset costs of participating in a Vermont Food Venture Center agricultural business development program. |

Vermont Maple Industry Council $15,000 • 2001 Grant was used to initiate an industry-wide strategic/marketing plan and to review and revise the operations of maple industry organizations in order to effectively implement this plan. |
Vermont Prime Emu Producers, Inc. $5,000 • 2001 Grant to VPEP was used used to support the marketing of emu products, including website updates, logo design, & nutritional label development. |
Vermont Quality Meats Cooperative $40,000 • 2000, 2001, 2003 Several grants were used by VQM to formally organize as a cooperative, to purchase a vehicle with a refrigerated unit and storage equipment, and to assist with marketing. |
Vermont Specialty Food Association $5,000 • 2001 Grant was used to help the association develop a strategy to enhance the viability and competitiveness of VSFA members, and lead to the creation and/or improvement of jobs within VSFA’s member businesses. |
